Front Wheel Lift & Manual Clinic

  • WomenMTB P.O. Box 711022 SALT LAKE CITY, UT 84717 United States (map)

Getting the front wheel off the ground is a key mountain biking skill for riding the tech and in a pinch when you need to avoid drop in the trail. These techniques are also used to do a wheelie.

Front wheel lift clinic will go over how to lift the front wheel using the "Manual" and the "Quarter Punch" technique. These techniques are similar in that they both lift the front wheel, but different in the how. The Manual is typically used when descending while the Quarter punch is used when climbing technical features. The quarter punch comes in handy in Moab and for getting up a curb.

Both techniques are using those pedals to get the front wheel off the ground in different ways and come in handy! Both techniques are also used to do a wheelie.
